JP du Plessis (born 29 April 1991, in Kroonstad[1]) is a South African dual-code Rugby player currently signed to the Melbourne Rebels in the Super Rugby competition.He prevoiusly played rugby league for the Sydney Roosters
He grew up playing rugby union in South Africa in the Paul Roos Gymnasium, Stellenbosch, before signing with the Sydney Roosters. He had been earmarked as a future South African international. He is one of two South Africans who have signed with the Roosters, the other being Brian Skosana.[2][3]
In June 2010, du Plessis signed with the Melbourne Rebels Super Rugby side.[1][4][5]
